Here are a selection of arias from J.S. Bach’s Cantatas. I selected them with the idea of making a kind of Bach study book for cello, but they are great to practice on any bass instrument!
The index excel file has two tabs. The first tab has the contents of the “Selected Bach Arias”. The second tab has the contents of Vol 1-3.
What is the difference between the volumes?
The more recent “Selected arias” are grouped into instrumentation, and restricted to smaller settings – I hope this makes it a bit more efficient to practice from, or flick through pdfs. I made Volumes 1-3 last year based on the order of the Cantatas in the Neue Bach Ausgabe, and they include arias with more obbilgato instruments, which are all beautiful, interesting and challenging, but a bit more of a hassle to practice from because of the need to turn pages often.
